Lasix.

Lasix (furosemide) has been designed for the treatment of high blood pressure and fluid retention in people with a number of other medical conditions. Your health care provider will want to see you regularly for your blood and kidney or liver function to be tested – to make sure Lasix is working well for you. You will need to make sure you do not have any contraindications, for example, a pregnancy or an allergic reaction to the active ingredient of this drug (furosemide). Make sure you talk to your health care provider about any medical conditions you have (kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease, or gout), as well as drugs you are using for whichever conditions (such as lithium, cold medicines, salicylates, indomethacin, ethacrynic acid, steroids, other blood pressure medications, diet pills, or digoxin) to learn more about possible interactions. The success of your treatment can be affected by either of the two factors – and this will need to be discussed with your health care provider. Side effects of Lasix are not common and include headache, stomach pain, numbness, burning, tingly feeling, diarrhea, constipation, blurred vision, and dizziness, which all tend to be mild and go away soon on their own.
